final day
This is was the judgment day; we had to display our work to in college. We got a lot of feedback from our peers and some facilitators.
A criticism from a facilitator was about how feasible is our product, thought he liked the concept. He appreciated that we had worked hard and that the effort was seen. He pointed out some mechanisms where we could have used some other material like using a metal latch instead of tying the doors with rope and using a fine rope instead of jute for weaving. He also suggested us that we would post our project on designboom.com, a site which encourages new designs and holds competitions for it.
Another facilitator told us that she liked how we have joined our frames together especially our 2nd door.
Others said they really liked the concept, some like the first door, some thought it was thought provoking, but a few were skeptical about how this would work in actual situation( what if they just kill each other with a knife instead of shaking their hands?)
But generally everyone enjoyed wearing a mask, passing through the door frames and meeting the person on the opposite side.

It was a nice experience to see that our project was efficient up to some level. When we asked our peers to try passing through the doors, they happily volunteered too!
There were different reactions after reaching the middle door, some decided to hug, some just engaged in a hand-shake and said Hello to the other person and passed them.
Here are some clicks of the day:

I was really happy to see that everyone had fun while doing this.
So far, we had a good journey, learned new things. The last week I could see the difference in myself, how fast and handy I have become. The swiftness in the work was something our team grew on; we could finish a door in about 3 hours in the last week, which would have taken us 2 days to finish during the early days of class.
And when it comes to how I am going to use this knowledge in future, I’m not very sure right now. But due to the interest I have in product design, I might just use this knowledge all the time in the future. And also I might just build my own house with bamboo :P
This was definitely my best course of the foundation year. Thank you Jackson!
